Mannum
is the birthplace of the River Murray Paddle steamers, and this
historic town
retains strong links to its romantic river past.
Now
a busy tourist centre, Mannum features
the world's oldest
overnight passenger carrying paddle steamer, the PS Marion, a river
museum and art gallery, antique shops, several cafes, two hotels, a
prize-winning bakery
and sweeping riverfront parks.

Nearby are
the beautiful Mannum waterfalls, just above Reedy Creek, 6km from
Mannum,
offering spectacular scenery and some very good bushwalking
trails in the Winter months
when the waterfalls flow. The Palmer Hills
catchment area also boasts
what is believed to be the oldest boulder outcrop in the World.
