The Diplomat Houseboat is designed for easy handling – you don’t need a licence just a good sense of adventure. The Diplomat is a flexible 2-10 berth houseboat with all the comforts of a modern selfcontained apartment. It comes complete with 2 double bedrooms, a double bunkroom, 2 day/night divans, a fully equipped modern kitchen, bathroom facilities, air conditioning/heating, and spacious living areas which extend the complete length of the cabin.

The open plan design is very child friendly so you can relax and constantly view the children. Upstairs is a large covered rooftop sundeck area, ideal to take in the breathtaking scenery and unforgettable sunsets. The boat is powered by a Yamaha outboard motor – you’ll be amazed by the fuel economy.

Terms & Conditions

Payments & Security Bonds

• A deposit of $300 is required within 7 days to confirm your booking. The balance of the hire fee is payable 8 weeks prior to the commencement of your hire.

• A security bond of $500 – $1500 (negitiated at time of booking) must be paid in cash on the first day on which the boat is to be hired. The security bond, less the cost of fuel (including unleaded petrol and gas) will be refunded if the boat is returned promptly to the hirer at the time agreed by you and the hirer, within 14 days. Any damage or loss caused to the boat will be charged at cost.

• Fuel : The tanks will be full prior to your departure and all engine and generator fuel used including gas will be deducted from your security bond within 14 days of your return.

• Hire prices are subject to change at any time prior to the booking deposit being received in full, at the absolute discretion of the hirer.

• Diplomat Houseboat reserves the right to refuse a booking in its absolute discretion.

General Conditions

• All occupants of the boat are required to read and sign a hire agreement prior to departure.

• Occupants under 18 years of age require the signature of a parent or gaurdian.

• Hire Commences at 3.00pm. on the first day and will terminate at 9.00.am on the last day.

• The boat must be returned in good, clean condition or an extra cleaning charge will apply. Smoking inside the boat is prohibited. If the hirer has reason to believe that smoking has occured inside the boat, a cleaning fee of $200 will be charged.

• Pets are not permitted due to health regulations and no firearms, trail/motorbikes or chainsaws are allowed on the boat.

• No all male or all female bookings without prior arrangement.

• The number of persons permitted on board must not exceed the number of berths allowed by NSW Maritime regulations. A child over the age of 12 months is counted as one person.

• The letting is made on the understanding that the boat is placed at your disposal on the date desired, unless the proprietors are prevented from doing so by mechanical breakdown, unusual river conditions or any unforeseen circumstances. In this case all monies paid will be refunded. The hirer will ensure that the boat and motor is, and that the accessories are, in good working order. The hirer will not compensate you for loss of time due to unforeseen mechanical problems during the hire period.

• At lease one crew member must be aged 21 or older and hold a current driver’s license. The boat must be driven in daylight hours only. The boat must not be driven by anyone under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

• The boat must remain within 60 river kilometres downstream and 40 river kilometres upstream of Mildura.

• Car parking is available at the morring site. The hirer accepts no responsibility for the safety and security of parked vehicles.

Cancellations

• Cancellation of any booking must be made at least 8 weeks prior to the date of hire to be eligible for a refund.

• If a cancellation is made any later than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the hire period, a refund will only be made if the boat is re-let for that same period.

• A $50 handling charge will apply to all cancellations.
