SA Confest Camping Weekend

14 - 17 Oct 2016

BACK TO NATURE CAMPING WEEKEND

Enjoy the beauty of native animals, birds and vegetation on the beautiful banks of the Murray River. Share in the many workshops on varied topics and relax on the river in camping style while still enjoying the modern facilities of toilets, cooking and hot showers.

On Friday October 14 head to Pilwarren (SA) and experience this special weekend event ending on Monday October 17th.

This event is organised by with the intention of giving a Confest feel although on a smaller scale.

This event is open to anyone. All ages are welcome.

Some of the Workshops for 2016 so far are – Laughter Yoga, Body painting, Yoga, Intro to crocheting , Intro to massage, Fire twirling, Saturday Night Dance with our very own Community Radio D.J, a Wombat Night Walk and Decorating the Steam Room Walls. Other workshops will depend on who wants to run them.

Last year, we had the hot tub fired up and a huge mud pit in which to wallow. There were back-to-back workshops on topics as varied as maintaining Vitamin D levels, yoga, fermenting and massage. There were people strumming guitars and drums. The atmosphere was open and friendly.

The venue is a private property close to Adelaide on the Murray River, between Swan Reach and Walker’s Flat. Pilwarren is set in beautiful bushland and has room for hundreds of people, accommodated in hired cabins or in their own vans or tents. There is an excellent kitchen where we will team up to cook delicious meals for everyone, and ablution blocks with hot showers and flushing toilets (yes, it’s ConFest with a modern touch!)

Again this year, we will all bring food to share, either prepared in advance or as separate ingredients for our communal meals. Last year the meals were amazing.
Please note that the communal kitchen is a vegetarian space but there is plenty of cooking facilities for meat eaters.

The event is clothing optional for those who wish to experience the freedom of their bodies in nature and a safe and supportive space, however the tone of the weekend is about connecting, sharing, new experiences, personal growth so many people choose to remain clothed.

As well, everyone has the opportunity, in fact is encouraged, to get into the true spirit of ConFest and bring their own special offering to share with the rest of us, such as a workshop, firewood, musical instruments, pizzas for the pizza oven, massage oil, a fire twirling show or other entertainment, decorations—use your imagination,

Everyone at the camp is responsible for helping making others feel safe, welcome and connected.

Tickets will be sold at the gate and will cost $80 per person or $60 for those with a Health Care Card. Children 16 years and under have free entry.

THE ABUSE OF DRUGS AND ALCOHOL IS NOT WELCOME.
Sorry, NO pets.

Head along the Purnong Road for Approximately 12 kms then turn left onto Murraylands Road (dirt road). Look out for the Pilwarren and Confest signs on Murraylands Road onwards.

We suggest first time visitors try to arrive before dark, it is much easier to find in daylight.

Watch out for kangaroos & wombats, particularly if you travel at dust, night or dawn. Seriously every time I have gone to Pilwarren I have had to stop for animals.
