Jim Murphy operated “Shore to Please” – a superb two to six berth houseboat suitable for one or two couples or a family – for some years and during that time formed an opinion that there existed an opportunity to provide more comfort and privacy for hirers.
He established Quality Houseboats with the intention of providing luxury motel-style accommodation for houseboat hirers.
Murray Explorer – 5 bedrooms with 5 individual ensuites was launched in 2000, Murray Meanderer with 4 bedrooms and 4 individual ensuites was launched in 2002. Murray Entertainer has 5 bedrooms and 5 individual ensuites and was launched in 2003.
These 4 boats are the nucleus of “South Australia’s First Ensuite Fleet”
