Radio Procedure

UHF channel 39 will be the call up channel, and if this becomes inoperative due to a stuck transmission button etc, the secondary call up channel is 37.

Call signs

  • Oscar W Coordination Centre – “Coordination Centre”
  • “Coordination Office” person answering radio
  • “Ron Blake” or other person by name
  • Boat Name “Oscar W” etc.

To call another vessel for a chat, call on 39 and then nominate another channel to chat (not 39 or 37). DO NOT FORGET TO GO BACK TO 39 TO LISTEN TO THE COORDINATION CENTRE.

This Celebration of Federation celebration has been supported by the Government of South Australia with a grant of $100,000, which has been used to develop the Great Paddlesteamer, Heritage Voyage 2001 and the Centenary of Federation Celebration Festival at Goolwa over the long weekend September 29th –October 1st 2001.

Have a good time and do not be afraid to ask questions because we have tried to provide all the information possible but then there are the unexpected factors.

Let us celebrate in a fitting manner the fact that we live in the best country in the world because our ancestor created the Commonwealth of Australia without a civil war with a Constitution that has served for one hundred years with very few changes.
