The bridge construction is now making a big impression alongside the Goolwa ferry.

Piling is well advanced, work on the approach embankment on the island is very evident and the Goolwa side is about to start in earnest. Following the installation of the precast aprons at river level the support stanchions are being poured and the main power feed to the island is being undergrounded (or should that be underwatered?) and the change over is due soon which will enable the large stobie poles and o/head supply to be dismantled.
Caution should be taken by all boat operators in the vicinity especially at night. The approach is buoyed and lit with speed restrictions however still presents a hazard with piles just clear o water and a 24hr operating ferry.
