(Add time for stops)
Distance: 35km

Departing The Alfred Deakin Visitor Information Centre travel along Deakin Avenue towards the river and turn right into 7th Street, continue through the roundabout and at Etiwanda Avenue turn left and then right into Cureton Avenue.

Continuing further along will take you to an intersection with Cowra Avenue. Turn left here and this will bring you to the Sandilong Park, home of the Mildura Racing Club (Mildura Cup Carnival is in June).

The river offers more than just quiet enjoyment.Driving further along Cowra Avenue we reach a T intersection. To our left is the Mildura Ski Club, headquarters of the Easter Mildura 100 Ski Classic. Following the road to the right, turning right into Park Lane just prior to Riverside Gold Club, one of the 6 excellent golf courses in the district. Continue to the T intersection passing the Mildura Lawn Cemetery and turn left which will bring us to Billabong Road.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A DRY WEATHER (unsealed) ROAD. The river and animal life abound, with camping, boating, fishing and swimming. Continue along the dirt road towards Psyche Ben. Cross the small bridges and allow yourself time to observe the native birds and animals.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE. Turn right at Bruce's Bend Kiosk and continue along Irymple Avenue and turn left into Cureton Avenue, Woodsies Gem Shop is on the right. Open 9am to 5:50pm daily with free admission. A gemstone cutting and grinding display is shown free of charge at 11am and 2:30pm. Full cafeteria service is available. Enjoy Aladdin's Cave or the huge Garden Maze.

Murray Gum Pottery is located about 100 metres from Woodsies. Turn left at Laurel Avenue and see the production workshop first-hand. Choose from a large range of quality hand-made pottery. Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Return to Cureton Avenue and turn left. On the left we ass Amaroo Park Equestrian Centre, where you can go horse riding or maybe lessons are what you require. All equipment is supplied.

Drive 1.2km and turn left into Cooke Street. Located here is the old pump house, housing one of the Chaffey pumps. Unfortunately this site is not open to the public. Continue along and rejoin Cureton Avenue.

Kings Billabong Lookout is found on the left. Nature walks can be commenced from here.

Psyche Bend Pumping StationFurther along Cureton Avenue a sign indicating Psyche Pumps to the left can be seen. The road to the pumps is unsealed. Psyche pumps have recently been restored and opening times are Tuesdays and Thursdays 1pm to 4pm, Sundays 10am to 1pm. Special operational days are held throughout the year. The pumps are an integral part of the Chaffey Trail. Interpretative signs are on site.

After leaving the pumps turn right into Cureton Avenue and continue along to Woodsies Gem Shop. Turn left into Morpung Avenue and then right into 11th Street.

Continuing along 11th Street the Sunraysia Horticultural Centre is located on our left. Managed by the Department of Natural Recourses and Environment the centre undertakes horticultural research and development programs and provides valuable horticultural information.

Our drive concludes as we return to Mildura.
