Swan Reach, on the eastern bank of the Murray, features a Hotel, swimming, fishing and boating facilities, tennis courts, golf course, bowling green and a Caravan Park. The population is around the 200 mark. The township is 76 miles by road from Adelaide and 153 miles from the river mouth at the lake below Wellington. The area is rich in historical interest and is a favourite location for day outings by the Adelaide residents. Fishing is usually good in this section of the river although the boat traffic is quite heavy on most weekends.
