Shane StrudwickShane Strudwick is creator of Discover Murray. His career began in print and advertising design in 1989. After further years of study, travel and industry experience, we established Brand Action in February 2000 and pursued our passion for an integrated, innovative approaches to design and branding solutions for print and internet. Brand Action is based in Norwood, South Australia and our team is passionate about the Murray River and the Murray-Darling Basin. We also understand that tourism boundaries are not political, they are defined by the experience.

Today we continue to evolve brand strategies, marketing and communications with a tourism specialty and a Murray River passion. Shane formally sat on the South Australian Tourism Accreditation Board, now South Australian Tourism Industry Council and offers logical, down to earth advice to industry on branding related matters. Brand Action’s clients include a diverse range of industries from commercial, not-for-profit and government. We distil the mystery of brands simply so clients and audiences gain effective ways to improve their brand while positioning their organisation as the best valued choice for the customer or visitor. These solid principles work for both business, towns and regions.

Shane was Chair of the proposed Murray River Tri-State National Landscapes initiative. This is working closely with regional tourism, regional development boards, local council, operators, Parks, Tourism Australia and local indigenous cultures to make the Murray region an international brand and destination.

Why the Murray?

We love the Murray and want to see it live a long, health life for all to enjoy. It is Australia’s Great River Experience. While working with clients in Mannum, Mildura and Echuca we noticed a lack of good resources in one area for the Murray nationally which we felt didn’t positively reflect well on the region both domestically and internationally. Using our experience this allowed us to capitalise on an significant weakness and opportunity to promote the entire river effectively with innovation and quality as the foundation for development.

The idea of a balanced website that professionally promotes the region is exciting, yet very challenging. Our solid business experience in branding and online strategies along with correct branding of the Murray region we are creating a fantastic and valuable resource for the community that consistently delivers on user expectations for years to come.
