Captain Proud was originally built as the Proud Lady and worked as one of the original showboats on the Port River.
In 1993 the vessel entered the River Murray from the sea at the Murray mouth near Goolwa and traveled to Echuca. The Captain Proud has now returned to Murray Bridge where it used to trade since 1995.
Captain Proud has proudly put back into service by Greig and Vesna Donaldson and its Dining Room has been Recently Renovated. Captain Proud is available for charter and cruises 7 days a week. We have standard Daily Cruises from Monday to Sunday from the Main Wharf at Murray Bridge (near the old trains).

New Cruise SchedulesDay 1. You will be picked up from Adelaide CBD by our bus and go on an Adelaide sight seeing tour and then to Willow Point Winery to sample some Sav Blanc or mull over merlot before arriving in Murray Bridge for your 5 Hour Dinner Cruise travelling downstream past White Sands and River Glenn Marina. Returning to the main wharf at 8pm. You are then taken to your overnight stay at the Oval Motel Day 2. After breakfast at the Motel our bus will take you for a tour of Mannum and the delightful Gem Factory. A little free time in the main street browsing some of the delightful shops and cafes in Mannum before arriving back at the vessel at 12:15pm in Murray Bridge for your 3 Hour Lunch Cruise. This time we will be cruising Upstream past wonderful wetlands and cliffs at Sunny Side, Shacks and Homes. Each day will have different views of our Great Murray River. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Murray onboard the historic Captain Proud Paddle Boat.
