Albury Show Society Inc. is proud to announce the dates for the 2012 Albury Show.
From Friday 1 November until Sunday 3 November the Albury Showground at Mate Street will come alive as the best in local and regional agricultural and artistic prowess goes on display.
Loads of live entertainment including the wood chopping, mini bike stunt team, precision driving teams and performances to entertain the whole family will be running.
This year we also welcome the exciting Back on Track – Paws Up Team from Armidale who will be entertaining the crowds with their amazing high jumping dogs. The Paws Up Team have been to Melbourne Royal Show and have received rave reviews for their performances.
Mr Hay’s baby animals will be on display and the children can enter the enclosure and can pet feed the baby animals. Mr Hay’s animal are all raised by the Hay family and he supplies the feed for the animals at no extra cost to the children. Mr Hay also supplies hand sanitizer for use as that children exit the enclosure.
Gary Reid is also attending with his Showtime FMX crew. The shows that Gary and his team of riders put on is always spectacular, very daring and exhilarating to watch.
There will be fireworks lighting up the skies above Albury on Friday and Saturday nights and during the day the main arena will be crowded with the best and most beautiful horses from all over the country. Albury Show Horse Committee has managed to secure the expert opinions of Belinda Scanlon and Susannah McGarrity from Sydney, Jenni Cesnik from Tarcutta and Sharlene Prichard from Barnawartha to officiate over our wide range of equine classes.
Marc Greening of Injemira will be the judge of the Cattle program. Albury Show Cattle Committee are delighted to have Marc involved with the judging of the cattle program. Marc is very highly regarded in the cattle industry and will provide all of the exhibitors with a chance to gain from his vast knowledge and experience.
Along with the side shows and activities on the main arena, the Albury Border Kennel Club, Albury Poultry Club, Albury Lapidary Club and Albury Table Tennis will be exhibiting their specialties and providing show goers with new sights and experiences throughout the weekend. North East and Border Axeman will run a competition on Saturday which is always a great spectacle.
Competitions for the best in art and craft, cookery, livestock, produce and more, will be held throughout the weekend. By wandering through the pavilions at the showground you’ll be surprised at how much the local talent there is when it comes to farming, production, craftsmanship and creativity.
Sideshow alley is always a huge hit with the young and the young at heart. Ferris wheels, dodgem cars and thrill rides will be sure to please the daredevils.
