Celebrating Murray Bridge Xmas pageant in 2012.
Pageant is on November 17th – starting at 5.30pm followed by Riverfront Festival at Sturt Reserve where there will be entertainment, food, drinks, amusements and Santa with fireworks spectacular at 9pm
Each year on the second to last Saturday in November the Murray Bridge Murray Valley Standard Christmas Pageant winds its way through the streets of Murray Bridge commencing in Standen St at 5.30pm and concluding approximately an hour later at the riverfront at Sturt reserve.
Following on from the pageant is the Power FM Radio 5MU Riverfront Festival, where families can enjoy entertainment at the riverfront, and children can get to meet Santa.
Entertainment for the whole family being sponsored by .T & R Pastoral.
The Murray Bridge Lions Club have arranged for local community groups to supply a wonderful array of food, as well as for amusements and rides for the children and their families.
From around 6.30pm each half hour the enormous Tintacar Mega Fireball will explode into the skies around the river, as patrons enjoy each other’s company and entertainment in an alcohol free environment.
Then at 9pm the Murray Bridge Mitre 10 Fireworks Spectacular hits the skies. This event is supported by Murray Bridge Business and Tourism and local businesses. This year Power FM and 5MU will simulcast the event with music being put to the skyshow.
Patrons are invited to bring along their radios on the night and tune in to this fantastic event which signals Christmas into Murray Bridge.
Community Groups, Businesses and members of the community are invited to enter a float in the pageant. Entry forms are available from the website, the Murray bridge Visitor Information Centre and the Murray Valley Standard.
Children are also invited to join in the pageant by decorating their bikes, or dressing up as a fancy dressed character or clown. Entry forms for this and details are available on the website, the Murray Bridge Visitor Information centre and the Murray Valley Standard.
