Murraylands Schools Music Concert with Adam Page

Adam Page, one of the leading saxophone players in the Southern hemisphere, has just completed his first symphony for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, after already collaborating with Greek-born composer John Psathas in 2012. He has performed at many high-profile festivals all over the world, including the Wellington International Jazz Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe, WOMADelaide and recently with the Shaolin Afronauts at UK’s Glastonbury Festival.
Adam will be focussing on composition with the students and on the night will premiere these works with three collaborative ensembles from the Murraylands region. These ensembles, that involve students from years 6 to 12, will be performing other repertoire alongside these compositions and Adam, with his loop station, will play a set of his unique, genre-crossing, multi-instrumental music.
This event has been made possible through a Creative Education Partnerships – Artist in Residence grant, which has been developed through DECD – Arts Project Mannager Sharyn Schell, Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre Music Programs Manager Ross McHenry, Adam Page and is supported by the Instrumental Music Service in partnership with the schools of the Murraylands.
