Lameroo Country Music Festival

Lameroo to host music festival – This is proudly put on by The Lameroo Memorial Hall Committee in conjunction with Roz Giles of Big River Entertainment.
The single day event will feature twelve first class local and interstate entertainers including the internationally acclaimed touring and recording artist, Craig Giles “Mr Versatile”
Craig will be joined by popular entertainers Graeme Hugo, David Croser, Rick Bartlett, Chooka Williams, The Texettes, Kristal Collins, Heartland, Wild Card, The Cruisers plus young whip cracking sensation, Luke Fritsch. The compere for the day will be Allan Carroll from Geelong, Vic.
Festival organiser Roz Giles said Big River Entertainment were first approached by Southern Mallee District Council mayor John Ramke in February this year.
Mr Ramke asked if they would be able to stage some kind of show in the town.
“I had a look at the (Memorial) Hall with John and his wife Kath and thought it would be ideal for an indoor festival, I organise similar festivals and events throughout Australia and this venue is up there with the best.” Roz Giles said.
“We have engaged a variety of acts from classic country to Rockabilly to keep everyone happy.”
“It will run in two rooms – The Main Hall features a big dancing area. The Supper Room will have lighter entertainment.”
“The whole idea has been to have a good variety of entertainment for locals and to attract more visitors to the Lameroo area.”
Roz said the artists were looking forward to working in a venue where weather would not pose a problem. Artists for 2010 have now been finalised but if anyone is interested in being involved with the 2011 festival.
