
Goolwa Aquafest 2016

Entries are now open for the 2016 Aquafest to be held at the Goolwa Aquatic Club over the weekend of the 9th & 10th of April.
The event is open to all powerboats, old and new, inboard or out board, vintage ,classic, modern, ski boats or race boats.
The boats can be entered for full participation of on water events, display only or we can arrange special display runs for specialty boats.

Please add as much information as you know to assist our announcer for the event.
Meals are available all weekend, You are welcome to dine at the restaurant upstairs, or BBQ and vendors downstairs.
The format for the weekend will be
Friday night
Meet and greet for early arrivals at the clubs bar.
Saturday
Catch up with friends, test & tune, familiarize yourself with the coarse, share boats, take passengers, cut some laps and just have fun.
Saturday is “Open Waters” meaning we share the water with other boaties like any public lake. (they will stay out of the way)
We recommend you carry “protected waters” safety gear (as per SA State rules) though single seat boats are exempt.
Duty boats will be on stand by.
Saturday night
You are invited to dinner at the Fleurieu Function Center, a fully licensed restaurant upstairs at the club.

Vintage and classic speedboat film and videos will be running all night.
Sunday
Spirited racing demonstrations all day.
We have a compulsory drivers briefing on the boat ramp at 9:00 am sharp.
This is a must attend meeting and driver will be asked to sign a attendance sheet to be able to take part in the event.
The boats will be divided into similar types and speed groups, and we will fit in as many runs as possible over the day.
Sunday is a “Closed Waters” event, meaning a patrolled set perimeter around the coarse.
Helmet and a Life Jacket are mandatory, but no need to carry the protected waters safety gear.
There will be Sea Rescue, St Johns, Duty Boats and a Dirty Water Diver on stand by.
