Featuring April 9th 2016 at the Chauvel Cinema, 8:45PM, action lovers can enjoy a modern version of an ancient Irish legend Diarmuid and Gráinne, Dublin’s criminal underworld, kidnapping, guns, an international escape, and love triangle.
Fionn, rock star and protector of Dublin’s criminal underworld, marries Gráinne to keep peace and escape assassination. Gráinne daughter of the King Pin wants a new life, one out of the criminal world where she isn’t in a terrible marriage of convenience. Gráinne kidnaps her husband’s trusted bodyguard, Diarmuid, at gunpoint in a desperate attempt to escape, and the two with few trusted allies, escape to Spain where new life and everlasting love await. However, their past comes back with a vengeance when Diarmuid is believed to have kidnapped Gráinne as an act of betrayal.
Directed and written by Paul Mercier, one of Ireland’s leading stage directors, the film promises a contemporary take on the mythical classic with exemplary cast members. A short film Follow the Rainbow to Ireland will screen afterwards.
