Matthew Fagan’s Lord of the Strings – Guitar and Multi-instrumental Show
10-string Guitarist Matthew Fagan (Lord of the Strings), renowned as being Australia’s leading all-round acoustic guitarist, has wowed fans all over the globe in over 120 countries with standing ovations and sold out shows at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as touring with the original Buena Vista Social Club, Billy Connolly, Michael Crawford, Shirley Bassey and Natalie Cole.
From Bach to the Beatles, Flamenco to Blues and Celtic Harp Music on unique 10-String Guitar, ‘Lord of the Strings’ is the ultimate music journey packed with humour.
Show highlights include the impressive 10-String Guitar Celtic arrangements Matthew composed for touring with Billy Connolly and banjo highlights from the album ‘Song for Billy’ which features the Liberty banjo Billy Connolly gave to Matthew after their 53 night tour together.
Other highlights – the hilarious Guitar Challenge, where Lord of the Strings performs a medley of audience guitar requests, a round the world trip on Ukulele and Matthew’s virtuosic hit rendition of J.S Bach’s Toccata on Steel String Guitar, which featured on ABC.
EGO features a virtual guitar orchestra of Matthew performing multiple guitar parts from contemporary metal Masters to Classical Masters.
EGO is also a project open to local community players to join Matthew for a group performance as part of EGO and as a highlight of a Lord of the Strings show.
