Held at Junction Park, the meeting place of Australia’s two longest rivers – Wentworth 8.30pm. Screening “Mao’s Last Dancer†a film based on an extraordinary true story and memoirs by Li Cunxin. Plucked from his poor village at the age of 11 to train as a dancer in Beijing, Li eventually defects to the US in dramatic circumstances in the early 1980’s. A vigorous, character driven historical drama…. it’s Beresford at his best. Cost $2 (purchase at the gate). This is a Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival event.
