PS Ruby Cruises from Renmark SA to Wentworth NSW- March and April 2011

PS RUBY FULL STEAM AHEAD TO RENMARK!
PS Ruby will be the only heritage Paddlesteamer to steam into Renmark SA for the PS Industry 100th Celebrations on the weekend of 2-3 April 2011.
Unfortunately the closure of Lock 2 (near Waikerie in SA) for about the next six weeks means that PS Marion and PS Oscar W will be unable to undertake their scheduled cruises to Renmark to join the celebrations.
The Chairman of the PS Ruby Board, Dave Eddie says “We are delighted to be able to confirm that PS Ruby will depart Wentworth on the morning of Tuesday 29 March and will steam to Renmark arriving on Friday 1 April, well within time to participate in all of the events for the PS Industry’s 100th birthday celebrations. The closure of Lock 2 means that we have had to shorten our cruise program and we will turn around and head for home – Renmark to Wentworth on Monday 4 April arriving in Wentworth late on Friday 8 or early on Saturday 9 April 2011.â€
“This is still the most ambitious cruise that PS Ruby has undertaken in 80 years passing through 5 Locks and we will undertake 3 overnight bush moorings in some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the Murray, it is a fantastic time to be on the river, †says Captain Leon Wagner “we will run 1 hour cruises from Renmark on both Saturday and Sunday 2 and 3 April for the huge crowd which is expected to visit Renmark on the weekend. The scheduled meeting of all of the old Paddlesteamers will just have to wait a while longer but hopefully not another 80 years! â€
