Discover PS Ruby Steam up One Hour Paddle Cruises

Step back in time as you are welcomed on-board the authentic 1907 heritage paddle steamer PS Ruby. Feel a tinge of excitement and adventure as the steam chambers breath life into the powerful paddles propelling the 205 ton riverboat forward, beginning your historic journey. Note the lovingly restored woodwork and polished brass fittings and be amazed by the 132 foot 9 inch vessel that only dips 2 1/2 feet into the water below. Imagine how the outback opened up through the river at a time when Henry Ford had yet to introduce his famous Model T motorcar. Fuel had to grow out of the surrounding bush to fire up the boiler.
Exciting one hour discovery cruises on-board the Paddle Steamer Ruby have been announced for the Great Wentworth Tractor Rally weekend 22nd to 24th July 2011. The PS Ruby will steam out through the Junction of the Darling and mighty Murray rivers with a running commentary and then explore upstream towards Mildura before turning around to paddle back with the flow, into the Wentworth wharf – all cruises will be from and return to the Wentworth wharf.
Departing Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July – 10.30am , 12.30pm and then 2.30pm with ticket sales at the wharf 1 hour before the cruises. (no children to travel alone).
