Goolwa Regatta Week
The Marina Hindmarsh Island Milang-Goolwa Freshwater Classic Yacht Race is one of Australia’s most popular yacht races. Now that the River Murray waters are back, the race returns after a five-year hiatus, as the finale to Goolwa Regatta Week.
The Milang Goolwa race begins at Milang, crosses Lake Alexandrina and travels down the River Murray, past Clayton to Goolwa. It is a total distance of 50 kilometres. The course offers spectacular viewing for thousands of spectators.
Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club is re-launching the race with The Marina Hindmarsh Island as principal sponsor. Goolwa Regatta Week, which starts on Saturday 14 January will have more races for yachties and many other community activities on and off the water during the week.
