Pinnaroo Agricultural Show & Field Day
03 Oct 2012
Pinnaroo is a rural community situated on the Mallee Highway 250km from Adelaide and mid-way between the South East and Riverland of South Australia, almost on the Victorian border. The Pinnaroo Show and Field Day is a special local event that attracts a large attendance (approximately 2,000) from local and neighbouring communities, and a good variety of traders (local and from outside the district). Pinnaroo’s social event of the year, the show draws entries in a wide range of sections from wool, pets, floriculture, photography, fruit and vegetables, needlework to cookery, arts, birds, grains, home brewing, junior judging (wool and sheep), yard dogs, shearing, horses in action, home brewing; a great variety. Competitors travel from all areas of South Australia, as well as from Victoria and New South Wales, and our literature is sent to these areas in the months prior to the show. The sideshows keep the young (and not-so-young) occupied, going on into the night when a spectacular fireworks display is staged from the main oval. Catering ranges from coffee to takeaways to sit down meals, and licensed facilities are available. Other entertainment is provided during the afternoon/evening. Join the crowd and have a great day for the whole family.
