This town's claim to fame is the Monarto Zoological Park , an open-range park managed by Zoos SA that is renowned for its breeding programmes.
Visitors can tailor their visit to suit themselves by using the network of walking trails and the Zu-Loop where you can hop on and off the bus at several designated points around the park. See exotic African and Asian animals including cheetah, giraffe, lions and rhinos! Make use of feeding time and feed a giraffe yourself or for the more adventurous book yourself in on one of the special tours where you cat get upclose with a cheetah in its enclosure!
Other facilities include a licensed bistro, gift shop, visitor centre, and viewing pavillion.
