Ramco on the Murray a short distance from Waikerie
Ramco was set up as one of the original villages for the Village Settlement Scheme established in Riverland—eleven communal settlements formed at Murtho, Lyrup, Pyap, New Residence, Moorook, Kingston, Holder, Waikerie, Ramco, Gillen and New Era. Most fail within a few years, with Lyrup continuing to survive.
Today Ramco is a small river community with an industrious heart with crops of orchards and vines.
