The Australia Pro Tour is a series of 28 esteemed international men’s and women’s events held yearly over 17 weeks in regional cities and towns over Australia’s six of our seven states and territories. Now in its 33rd successive year, this series of events has established itself a reputation as an exciting and professional international tour with each event establishing their regions ‘mini Australian Open’ reflecting the communities unique facets and is gathering great momentum as their annual feature event in the town. Mixing professional tennis with community activation, the Pro Tour sits just beneath the pinnacle of tennis events in Australia and provides the bridge between junior tournaments and Challengers and WTA Tour or ATP Tour events. The Pro Tour event held at the Mildura Lawn Tennis Club is a combined Men’s US$15,000/ Women’s US$25,000 IT Pro Event. It is the only event on the yearly calendar of events at this level held on natural grass. Players the Mildura community can expect to see at the event include, Olivia Rogowska, Ashleigh Barty, Matt Reid, Ben Mitchell, Luke Saville – all aspiring for a professional career in tennis. These players boast a world ranking varied between 110 and 280. This event is well established in Mildura – and it is now in its 6th consecutive year. The event goes from strength to strength and offers great community involvement through the Hot Shots program conducted on site and corporate hospitality functions held throughout the week. The Optus National Grasscourt Championships is held concurrently with the Pro Tour event. The Mildura community will have the opportunity to witness great Junior Competition and support these talented young athletes over 19-24 February.
