Murray River International Music Festival

Each year Sergio de Pieri, who was awarded an OAM for his contribution to music, embarks on his annual pilgrimage to Mildura, bringing with him marvellous virtuosi from Italy and other parts of the world. The program provides world-class performances combined with masterclasses, workshops and school visits.
Artists perform in locations ranging from riverside settings to inland gardens, wineries to regional arts venues. The Murray River International Music Festival provides a dynamic program of performances in the Mildura region (as well as Ouyen and Broken Hill), before travelling along the Murray River to perform in Swan Hill, Cohuna and finally Shepparton, indulging guests in regional food and wine along the way.
The festival traditionally opens with a performance in one of the most beautiful settings in regional Australia, the Ampelon Gardens. Patrons experience an unforgettable night and are transported from the banks of the Murray to Venice, Paris and Prague by some of the finest internationally renowned virtuosic players.
The line-up for 2015 includes: Stefan Cassomenos (piano), Sergio Ercole (classical guitar), Roberto Fabbriciani (flute), Khalil Gudaz (sitar), Anthony Halliday (organ), Rosemary Hodgson (lute), Massimo Scattolin (classical guitar), Allan Zavod (piano), The Sunraysia Quartet (Melbourne), Trio Sine Nomine (Italy).
