Free New Year's Eve Family Concert with Fireworks

Mildura Rural City Council is inviting people to let their hair down and hail in 2010 at a free community celebration this New Years Eve.
8pm – 12:15am at the new riverfront performance venue (at Ornamental Lakes Park)
- Entertainment includes:
- Fireworks at 9pm and midnight
- Characters from Madagascar movies
- Jumping castle
- RatBagz Comedy Theatre
- Super Turtle band
- Swing Rats band
People are encouraged to bring along deck chairs, a rug and a picnic. Food and refreshments are also available for purchase. This is an alcohol free family-friendly event.
Free Buses on New Year’s Eve
Mildura Rural City Council is providing free buses on New Year’s Eve to help people get home quickly and safely. Buses to Red Cliffs and Merbein will leave from the Deakin Avenue bus stop at Jackie’s Corner (Deakin Avenue and Eighth Street) at 1am, 2am, 3am and 4am. Routes are yet to be finalised, but it is likely that they will follow current Sunraysia Bus Lines routes and will stop at designated bus stops. Two uniformed police officers will be on each bus.
Glass Free New Year’s Eve
The Sunraysia Liquor Accord has declared Mildura glass free on New Year’s Eve. Bottle shops won’t be selling any takeaway alcohol in glass containers on New Year’s Eve. This includes stubbies, wine bottles and spirits, so you are encouraged to advise your guests or customers to plan ahead and to enjoy the festivities responsibly.
