AcO2, the ACO’s regional touring Orchestra combines ACO core player with hot young up-and-coming Australian musicians. In March 2011 AcO2 tours through regional VIC and SA with Guest Director and Lead Violin Lara St John from Canada. This is the first time that AcO2 has toured to SA.
Popular Canadian violinist Lara St John directs ACO2 in a concert of classical favourites from Baroque Italy, Romantic Russia, contemporary Australia and sultry Argentina. ACO2 violinists dazzle in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins, while Piazzolla takes Vivaldi as inspiration for his tango-style evocation of Buenos Aires’ seasons. After high-octane Hindson, the concert ends with Tchaikovsky’s thrilling, swirling Serenade.
