to the TAILEM BEND VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE
The V.I.C.Incorporates a RAIL MUSEUMthat has memorabilia on show dating back to the 1800’s and a full working signal box, all this has been bought about by retired railway employees that have worked hard to preserve this railway station ICON.
The INFORMATION CENTREhas all the maps and brochures you require to help you on your journey,and the friendly down to earth professional volunteers are only too happy to have a chat and discuss anything local and beyond with you.
The Centre also has an INTERNODE INTERNET HOT SPOT setup 24/7 if you need that vital contact.

Local Attractions
SOME LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
There is a 1hr Walking Trail around the town and when you finish you can choose from our local cafe’s, something to eat and sit down in the playground enclosure and enjoy it.
There is another Walking Trail setup down at the river ferry. This trail is called
THE RIVERBEND HERITAGE TRAIL which takes you on a 21klm round trip BUT can be split in half by starting at TAILEM BEND or WELLINGTON ferry crossings.
Walking this Trail takes you to JERVOIS where it loops around the old JERVOIS SCHOOL that opened it’s doors in 1940 around into Kellet street where you will go past the JERVOIS HALL that was built in 1930 and is still in use today then back to the local RIVER FLAT CAFE then along the road to Historical WELLINGTON which has the oldest Hotel and still trading, in SA, from there you walk to the “Old WELLINGTON COURTHOUSE”to check out what it has to offer and enjoy the cafe’ atmosphere, then it’s across the old/new ferry crossing that has many tales to tell, then just a short walk to the entrance into EAST WELLINGTON.Follow the signs up into PANGARINGA PARK of native trees, out past the Old East Wellington CEMETERY that dates back to the 1800’s,(you can look in here, but please be careful)then follow the signs that take you through the PINE FORREST then out onto the River cliffs a top the mighty RIVER MURRAY and back to Tailem Bend.

- FRANK FOODS at MONTIETH which is of the FRENCH flavour
“MALLEE PARK” for the big kid in you and younger one’s riding “QUAD BIKES” - There are Hotels/Motels and Caravan Parks for you to stay and enjoy our Town, ask about all these at the Info Center.
