Murrabit on the Murray

Murrabit is a small river town only 28km north of Kerang and a short distance from Barham and Koondrook. You will find the Murrabit Country Market, Conn Avenue. The open-air market, which is held in the Murrabit town square on the first Saturday of each month, attracts people from all over the region. Murrabit is also the final staging point for the Murray Marathon, held on the Murray each December.

Forest drives around Murrabit

Campbells Island, near Murrabit, is bound by the Murray and Little Murray rivers, and an ideal location for fishing, swimming and boating. There are some scenic drives close by near Barham which may be taken through three nearby areas of natural bushland. Sleeper cutters and charcoal burners are still to be found working in many places.
