Thanks for using Discover Murray River
Captain Proud built in 1977 cruises leaving from Murray Bridge

Now cruising 7 days a week!
Captain Proud was originally built as the Proud Lady in 1977, and worked as one
of the original showboats on the Port River. The vessel was rebuilt after a fire in 1987
and was renamed Captain Proud in 1989.
In 1993 the vessel entered the River Murray from the sea at the Murray mouth
near Goolwa and travelled to Echuca. The Captain Proud has now returned
to Murray Bridge where it used to trade since 1995.

Captain Proud has proudly put back into service by the Wellington Marina and is still
undergoing cosmetic change to bring her back to a heritage colour. Captain Proud
was re-surveyed in February 2006 for commercial trading and is now available for
charter and cruises 7 days a week. We have standard daily cruises from Monday
to Sunday from the main wharf at Murray Bridge (near the old trains).
