WALKING WITH VAHLAND’
During the National Trust Heritage Festival Echuca Historical Society is celebrating Wm. Vahland and his life’s work.
WILLIAM VAHLAND was the pre-eminent Goldfields Architect, best known for his design of many of north-central Victoria’s prominent public and private buildings including many in Echuca and surrounds.
He had an office in Echuca from which he worked one day a week. Accordingly, a number of Echuca’s finest buildings are Vahland designed and built including: the former Town Hall, the former Court House, the former Bank of New South Wales and even the Riverine Herald office!

A booklet celebrating the life and works of William Vahland is available for sale from the Echuca Historical Society.
