The Australian forces were exhausted and depleted after the mud and ice of Passchendaele . Germany held the upper hand. What did our local soldiers write home about?
The effects of the war at home meant women were increasingly assuming the physical and financial burdens of caring for their families. What was happening in Echuca – Moama?
11am on the 11th day of the 11th month was the end of the European War and the beginning of the repatriation of thousands of Australian service men. How did the Riverine Herald report this event? The Light Horse was still in Palestine, what are their stories?
In pictures and words, the Echuca Historical Society attempts to answer these questions
From 1st April till 30th May, the exhibition is open daily from 11am till 3pm.
